Notice to Tower Residents

Yesterday a sprinkler head broke in the garbage chute, resulting in flooding in the basement. This was a separate and different incident than the one occurring on 3/20/23.

If a heavy or large bag is thrown down the garbage chute, it may damage the sprinkler heads located inside the garbage chute. The water will continue to flow from the broken sprinkler head until the water supply is cut off to the sprinkler head.

To avoid damage to our sprinklers, please bring heavy or oversized trash to the recycle room. Any trash bag thrown down the chute should easily fit through the chute opening. If the trash must be forced through the opening, it is too large to go down the chute.

As an additional reminder, do not throw boxes, bottles or any glass down the chute.
